Hungary runs one of the strictest real-time invoice reporting regimes in the EU through RTIR and the NAV Online Számla platform, requiring nearly all domestic B2B, B2C, and cross-border invoice data to reach the tax authority within minutes of issuance, ahead of a planned move to a full national e-invoicing platform from 2028.
Invoice data for domestic transactions must be transmitted electronically and immediately to NAV via the Online Számla platform in XML format.
AvalaraCoverage expanded from invoices above a VAT threshold in 2018 to all domestic B2B and B2C transactions regardless of value from July 2020, then to intra-community and export invoices from 2021.
EDICOMFrom 1 September 2026, non-connected cash registers must digitally report B2C receipt data to NAV within three days.
