Best for: German accounting and ERP systems

Maesn

Maesn is a unified API for ERP and accounting, built and hosted in Germany, with 30+ European systems including DATEV, sevdesk, Lexware Office, Xentral and weclapp. It does not store customer data: calls pass straight through to the target system. Pricing is a flat fee per connected customer, quote only.

Apideck vs Maesn

Best for: Banks and lenders reading small-business books

Codat

Codat sells products for commercial banks, such as underwriting and monitoring, bill pay and bank feeds. It reads 15 cloud accounting platforms plus QuickBooks Desktop and Sage 50, keeps synced data in its own cache and recommends a weekly sync. Pricing is not public.

Apideck vs Codat

Best for: HR and recruiting alongside accounting

Merge

Merge syncs normalized data from HRIS, ATS, CRM, accounting, ticketing, file storage and knowledge base apps into its own store on a schedule (daily on the Launch plan). Its accounting page lists 14 platforms, including Moneybird and FreeAgent. Launch is $650/month for up to 10 production linked accounts, then $65 per linked account.

Apideck vs Merge

Best for: Commerce and payments data

Rutter

Rutter covers 60+ accounting, commerce, payments and ads platforms and has a Bank Feeds API. It stores the latest data for each connection and re-syncs every 60 minutes. A free 30-day Starter plan runs on sandbox data; the Full Access plan is quote only.

Apideck vs Rutter

Best for: Live reads across many categories

Unified.to

Unified.to reads from the source system on every call and says it stores no data at rest. It lists 251 accounting integrations, with many European ones, such as DATEV and Exact Online, marked beta. Paid plans start at $750/month, with a 30-day free trial.

Frequently asked questions

Everything teams ask before switching from Chift to Apideck.

Chift is an EU-focused unified API for accounting, ERP, e-commerce, POS, invoicing, and payments. Apideck covers the same depth and adds CRM, HRIS, ATS, File Storage, Issue Tracking, and more — with global rather than EU-only coverage.

Apideck publishes pricing publicly and charges per consumer. Chift is currently quote-only — pricing is not publicly listed.

Apideck covers 200+ connectors across 8 categories. Chift covers Accounting, Invoicing, E-commerce, POS, Payments, and PMS.

Days. Apideck provides a public OpenAPI spec, SDKs in Node.js, Python, PHP, .NET, Java, and Go, an API explorer, and live sandbox testing.

When your customers run on-premise accounting software in France, Spain or Belgium. Chift installs a local agent next to Sage 100 FR, Sage 200 ES, Sage 50 FR, EBP, BOB50, a3ERP and Winbooks, and Apideck does not connect to those. Chift also lists around 45 live POS systems and five hotel PMS (Cloudbeds, Mews, Noovy, Oracle OPERA Cloud and Thais), and its coverage of French and Belgian accounting suites goes further than ours. If you would rather not build the integration at all, its Agentic Syncs product builds and runs the sync flows for you. Apideck has a POS API with a limited set of connectors and no PMS API.

No. Apideck does not store third-party data: every read goes to the source system, so you get its current state and your customers' books are not copied to another vendor. For heavy analytical work, load the history into your own database once, then keep it current with webhooks: native webhooks where the system has them, and virtual webhooks, which check each enabled resource every 24 hours by default, where it does not. Chift reads live by default with a cache of up to 5 minutes on GET requests, and offers an opt-in data layer that keeps a synced copy on its own infrastructure.

Apideck lists 58+ live and beta accounting and ERP connectors across 48 countries, 30 of them in Europe, including Exact Online, DATEV, Twinfield, Pennylane and Moneybird alongside QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Business Central. Invoices, bills and payments are core resources of the Accounting API. Depth varies by connector, so check the operations you need for each system on the coverage page at apideck.com/integrations/accounting-coverage.

Yes. Apideck is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant. Chift is currently ISO 27001 / GDPR only — no public SOC 2 Type II certification.

Apideck hosts customer data in the EU. Both Apideck and Chift host data in the EU; Apideck additionally serves US customers and practices data minimization.

Yes. Apideck supports full CRUD operations across all categories. Chift also supports full CRUD across accounting resources.
